Examples of drawing from journal

All three of these were created whilst going through our exploratory stage. The drawing of the mutated toy was a start to a graphical based brief where we had to re-design two toys as one.

Fairytale Project and Negative exposure

The printed gingerbread men and 4 cartoon pictures in this set are for our first visual communication brief, subverting a childrens fairytale. The other two were just the products of one day projects we had been given.

Creations from mechanical objects and Brief: when two worlds collide, the mutilation of two toys

I put these three pictures together because the final piece for each brief was quite similar. The fluffy toy on the bike was the outcome of the toy mutilation brief; The mechanical looking bear beside it was made from a landing pad for a mini helicopter. I took the object apart and put it back together as a differently as i could.

Examples of Life Drawing

The last two life drawings are examples of when we had to draw using. The first drawing was from when we had to just draw the light that was shone on to the life model.

Final logo design for and a-level brief and my photo journal

The bird logo was for my Graphic design final piece in Sixth Form, i created my own brand and advertisement and this was the final logo i created. The photo journal was for a small project on the Art Foundation course.

Final piece for a mapping project at A-level

These two show a piece that i designed at A-level, a piece that i am very proud of and has been used in many Sixth Form shows because of its unusual 3D qualities. I created my own type that represented some type of map throughout the two words. I made it so there were three different plaques that when shown on their own wouldn’t make sense. The second photo shows it clearer as a burnt on logo.

Journal work from A-level briefs

These two are just examples of work from my A-level journal, the first showing my experiments with maps and the second showing many pictures of the different things i did with the plaques i etched type on to.

I was born in BMH Iserlohn, Germany, on English sovereign because my dad was in the army. We moved around a lot when i was young but settled in Shrewsbury when I was around 5. My parents split up soon after and my dad re-married and settled in Trowbridge, having two kids my little brother and sister. I have one older brother that my mum and dad had together who is 23 and doing his masters year at Manchester met at the moment in Business and Computing. My mother also re-married and is happily settled in Shrewsbury. I am a lifeguard at my local pool and have played football all my life. I support Manchester United and have played for the same football team from when it started to now, we are currently in the men’s league and I am top goal scorer. I have wanted to go to Manchester ever since my brother went there; I visited him many times and loved what I saw, I felt that the course itself looked great and think I would benefit as a designer by moving to a big city like Manchester and studying at the University. Even after looking round other Universities I still feel like Manchester is the Uni for me. I think I could easily belong in Manchester and would love to study something I love there.
